Mercedes V. Lorduy is a passionate advocate for victims of domestic violence and their families, working tirelessly to ensure that the voices of the oppressed are heard. An immigration attorney with over two decades of dedicated service to victims of domestic, sexual, and other violent crimes, her unwavering commitment to justice and advocacy for marginalized individuals has established her as a prominent figure in the legal community. Before embarking on her legal career, Ms. Lorduy made significant contributions as a victim advocate at both the police department and the State Attorney's Office in Montgomery County Maryland. This early exposure to the challenges faced by victims fueled her passion for providing support and legal assistance to those in desperate need of guidance and representation. A graduate of St. Thomas University School of Law, she plays a pivotal role in representing victims of violence in immigration matters, ensuring they receive the protection and support they deserve. She has also served as a faculty member for the National Immigrant Women’s Advocacy Project (NIWAP) and several other national organizations.
