The Robert C. Josefsberg Leadership Academy

We honor the memory of Stuart Weissman, a member of the inaugural class of the Dade Legal Aid Leadership Academy, who was deeply loved by our Legal Aid community and remained a close friend and steadfast ally to our mission. Stu was a dedicated attorney whose generosity, warmth, and sharp sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him—he brought lightness to every room while never losing sight of what mattered. As reflected in a tribute published by the Miami Herald, his impact extended well beyond the legal profession and into the lives of many he touched.

In his memory, we are proud to support the upcoming Stuart Weissman Esophageal Cancer Walk in Tampa on Saturday, April 11, and we encourage those who are able to participate or contribute in support of this important cause. For those unable to attend, members of our community will also gather for a local walk in Miami. The Robert C. Josefsberg Leadership Academy prepares talented young lawyers for greater leadership roles throughout the community and beyond.  Fellows gain invaluable experience and opportunities in a series of engaging sessions and networking facilitated by legal leaders that provide them with the tools and information necessary to expand and hone their leadership skills. The Robert C. Josefsberg Leadership Academy is a program that brings together young leaders in the community, showcasing their achievements and dedication to the legal profession, and aiding those less fortunate.

“The Robert C. Josefsberg Leadership Academy is a unique program designed to mentor the next generation of leaders in our legal community, with a focus on pro bono service as a key component of legal practice,” said United States District Court Judge Rodolfo Armando Ruiz II. “The continued success of the program highlights the commitment of these young leaders to help underserved individuals navigate the legal system.”
