The Guardianship Department at Dade Legal Aid provides free legal representation to indigent residents of Miami-Dade County serving as guardians for elderly, physically and/or mentally incapacitated family members, loved ones and close friends. The department helps hundreds of qualifying residents each year allowing family members or close friends to become and serve as legal guardians of incapacitated and indigent adults from age 18 to 110. The department also provides Guardianship services to older teens aging out of foster care.
