Mark R. Brown, Esq.
Managing Attorney
Mr. Brown joined Dade Legal Aid in 1998 as a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow while attending St. Thomas University School of Law. Upon graduation, in 2000, he was hired as a Project Attorney in the Put Something Back Pro Bono Project where he zealously coordinated client intake and referrals, seminars, pro se clinics, and a variety of projects including Wills on Wheels, Disaster Relief, and Habitat for Humanity. In 2001, he joined the Domestic Violence Department and managed Dade Legal Aid’s new Domestic Violence Outreach Office in Miami Beach, the first of its kind, where he successfully represented hundreds of petitioners seeking permanent injunctions at their domestic violence hearings. In 2003, he became a member of the Family Law Department representing qualifying low-income residents ever since with complex Divorce, Custody, Time-Sharing, Paternity, Domestic Violence and Child Support cases.  A true leader and collaborator, as Managing Attorney, he supervises a growing team of professionals dedicated to improving the lives of qualifying low-income residents with nowhere else to turn to for assistance. In addition, he oversees the operations of Put Something Back Pro Bono Project, mentors pro bono attorneys, and engages community partners, while continuing to handle his own caseload.
