Alina Nowicki serves as the Project Attorney for the Civil Litigation Project. She handles a broad range of financial disputes, including breaches of contract and credit card debt litigation from inception through settlement or trial. Alina is a graduate of Davidson College and Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. She has been a member of the Florida Bar since 2018.  Before joining Dade Legal Aid, Alina was an associate at Meland Budwick and Shutts & Bowen litigating commercial and trade secrets disputes. She also served as a judicial intern for The Honorable Robert N. Scola, Jr., U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Florida.  Prior to law school, Alina worked at the American Civil Liberties Union National Headquarters in New York City in the Racial Justice Program. She also completed internships with the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office, the Department of Homeland Security at the Port of Miami, and the office of Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. Alina also serves our community as a member of the Junior League of Miami, Cuban American Bar Association, the Carrollton Alumni Lawyers Association, and the Cafecito Network, an organization of Hispanic and Latina lawyers and law students. Most recently, in 2025, Alina was recognized by Law Dragon as one of “The Next Generation,” and in 2024-2026, she was recognized by The Best Lawyers in America as “Ones to Watch.”
