Christina Velazquez, Esq.
Staff Attorney
Ms. Christina Velazquez serves as a Family Law Staff Attorney. Ms. Velazquez graduated magna cum laude from University of Miami School of Law and became a member of the Florida Bar in 2025. She first joined Dade Legal Aid as a Fall Extern in the Family Law Division during her second year of law school and returned the following summer as a Funding Florida Legal Aid/Family Law Section Civil Legal Aid Summer Fellow.
While at Miami Law, Ms. Velazquez led as President of the Child Advocacy and Family Law Society and Executive Co-Chair of If/When/How and served on the ABA Commission on Domestic & Sexual Violence; Equal Justice Works National Advisory Committee; Legal Advocacy Alternative Break Planning Committee; and Public Interest Leadership Board. She also was a member of the International Moot Court Program and participated in the 2025 Inter-American Human Rights Moot Court Competition where she received the Best Orator in English award and team honors for 2nd Best English Victim and State Memorials. A Miami Public Interest Scholar, she completed almost 350 pro bono hours during law school for which received the HOPE Excellence in Legal Advocacy Outstanding 1L Award, Squire Patton Boggs Foundation Jumpstart Justice Fellowship, and was recognized as a PSJD Pro Bono Publico Award Merit Distinction Finalist. Ms. Velazquez brings her passion for access to justice and extensive public interest and pro bono experience to her current role where she will provide holistic representation to low-income families.
