AmeriCorps Vista

On April 3, Dade Legal Aid’s Put Something Back program participated in the AmeriCorps VISTA National Service Day of Recognition at Miami Dade College – InterAmerican Campus. This event recognized all of the service the AmeriCorps VISTA members have done this past year. As a Host Agency, Put Something Back plays a crucial part in the experience that members have during their year of service. During this event, Legal Aid’s VISTA’s, Jason Sotelo and Yasminn Rayo were recognized and received certificates for their exemplary service. As part of their service, the VISTA members performed a Service Day activity which was collecting canned goods and other items at the office to then give to the InterAmerican Campus pantry to help feed hungry students. “It is a privilege to work with such kind and caring students,” said Jessica Napoles, a representative of Put Something Back. “The VISTA’s have assisted with many projects during the year.”
