Dade Legal Aid is Seeking Applicants for Class VI of its Leadership Academy
Dade Legal Aid is accepting applications for Class VI of its Leadership Academy. The purpose of the Leadership Academy is to recruit local young lawyers to serve as Ambassadors for Dade Legal Aid. Fellows must have demonstrated outstanding commitment to our community and a deep desire to do more for the indigent population. Fellows will have the opportunity to strengthen their leadership skills while engaging with distinguished members of the legal community. Throughout the year, Fellows will learn about a variety of topics while creating lasting relationships with each other. Several former Fellows have been appointed to the judiciary, partnerships at their firms, and various voluntary bar leadership roles.
“Dade Legal Aid’s Leadership Academy was an incredible experience. I met a great group of lawyers, and learned from speakers on the importance of pro bono, and work life balance. However, nothing in my career has been quite as fulfilling as the Guardian ad Litem case I accepted through the program,” said Alex Saiz, Esquire, Class V. “They introduced me to the program, trained me and mentored me throughout the process where I was lucky enough to help a child who really needed it. When I was done, I signed up for another!”
Applicants must be in practice for 2- 8 years and have a passion for community service and pro bono legal work. For more information, please contact Stephanie Grosman, Esq., Coordinator, at sgrosman@dadelegalaid.org or 305-579-5733 ext. 2224
