Kristen Feuer joined Dade Legal Aid in 2006 as a Child Advocacy Attorney representing teenagers in the foster care system. Ms. Feuer is a graduate of the New England School of Law and member of The Florida Bar since 2005. A true collaborator and visionary, she is a member of the Dade County Bar Association Juvenile Courts Committee (currently serving as a co-vice chair) and the Probate & Guardianship Committee. In addition to handling complex Juvenile Dependency cases and mentoring countless pro bono attorneys and staff, she also handles an active caseload in the Guardianship Department representing older foster teens and other needy clients in Guardianship proceedings. A thoughtful and dedicated champion of children’s rights, Ms. Feuer is a frequent lecturer and has received numerous awards and recognitions throughout her career. In 2008 Ms. Feuer received the First Annual Guardian ad Litem “Thinking Outside the Box” Award for her innovative and creative legal strategies. In 2012 Ms. Feuer was named the 11th Circuit “Champion Attorney” in the area of Independent Living by the Guardian Ad Litem Program recognizing her excellence in the field. In 2013, Ms. Feuer was a recipient of the “Circuit Team Award” from the Statewide GAL Office for exemplary teamwork and advocacy. Ms. Feuer is dedicated to serving the community in her personal time and currently sits on the Education Advisory board for the Village of Miami Shores.
